New Era = New Challenges

Andrew’s been growing up so fast. Just this week he’s learned some new things that really open up a new era for us.

  1. Potty Training: We’ve just started letting Andrew try using the toilet, so he can test it out. My question is, what do you do when your little boy’s stream doesn’t come straight out like it should, but instead comes out shooting up at a 45 degree angle? I’m thinking Lysol wipes!
  2. “All Done”: Andrew can climb out of his bed now and can skip a nap. He comes walking down the stairs and calmly informs me that he’s “all done.” Last night he got out of his bed when we put him down for the night too. I think he smelled the cookies Scott and I were enjoying by ourselves.
  3. “Watch”: The little guy just learned this word yesterday, and has already said it 100 times. I guess we can look forward to his endless gymnastics and daredevil tricks, being always commanded to “Mommy, Daddy watch!”

So, I’m just a little nervous for all this craziness.

Oh, I think we should add a number 4: Zana and Elira can climb stairs.

Baby Fwoof

At some point Andrew started calling dogs “woofs,” which over time has turned into something close to “fwoof.” He loves to watch his Clifford’s Puppy Days DVD, which he calls “baby fwoof”, so we hear this about 50 times a day: Continue reading ‘Baby Fwoof’

New Summer Pictures

We posted some new pictures from our everyday summer adventures, around the house and elsewhere. You can see them here.

We did our best to tag the girls correctly. See if you can guess which is which before mousing over the photo to find out. The most correct guesses wins a prize.

Digital Life: Going Digital

Ever since digital storage — a.k.a. hard drives — became so cheap that the possibility of putting all the information in my life into that medium became a reality, I have had the goal of making that happen. What exactly do I mean? Well, I would like to have all my pictures, video, documents, books, music, and everything else stored digitally. I want it all on my computer, and not cluttering up my desk or shelves.

Obviously, I am not alone in this desire, Continue reading ‘Digital Life: Going Digital’

Andrew Pumping

With two new little girls in the family, Andrew spends a lot of his time either watching the girls get fed, or watching Catherine pump breastmilk to feed the girls later. Not surprisingly, he doesn’t find anything abnormal about pumping himself. At first he needed Catherine to do the sound effects for him, but he has since learned how to do it on his own.
